Wrap up of Seminole County Chess' Inaugural Tournament

7/14/2024

Seminole County Chess is happy to report on the success of its inaugural tournament, held on July 7th at VFW Post #5405 in Winter Springs. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants and supporters who made this event a memorable experience for everyone. A special thank you goes to Steve Lampkin who generously volunteered his time and considerable tournament directing experience to this event to support our new organization.

We had an excellent turnout for this first event with 38 players competing, which allowed us to split off a separate Scholastic section in addition to the Open and Unrated sections.
